Evo Bullet - The emerging Pitbike Ace

I mentioned the Bullet in a previous post. This is the name of our pitbike. We had it on show in Milan and the feedback was amazing.
There is incredible competition in this emerging category. We are excited about the work ahead.

To be great,
  • we have to be full of great technical specs and
  • we need to be price competitive but more than ever,
  • WE NEED TO BE RELIABLE and ROBUST.
No crap product is going to cut it with consumers anymore.

The good news is that Evo partners Mike Puzey and Alex Lenaerts have been racing the 2005 Bullet and they have done brilliantly. Mike has won a few classes and Alex has just come second in the top class .

(Mike is a little older than Alex and so they keep them in different categories! Thats what Mike thinks anyway, but the truth is that Alex is a pro rider having ridden for great names like Yamaha, Honada, KTM and there is even talk of him getting a ride in Europe and the States next year in a few races on a Husqvarna in the Super Motards!)

What this all means is that we are putting the genius of Mike's design to work on the bullet, we are racing the hell out of them and we have now got a superb 2006 model to show for all the work, and fun, that has gone into this bike.

There are a few other surprises in store for this bike but we are keeping them under wraps for the time being.

Red Bull - Latest News

The lovely lady here is from Red Bull and has just drawn our number. The other face is our Captain for the contest. He is Roy Dixon, and apart from being an old school friend of Mike's and mine, he is a Captain with Emirates. Roy flies a Boeing 777 as his day (and night) job, and a Pumpaplane for fun! Roy was a huge driver behind the Pumpaplane and its participation in the event.

We came third over all. Not where we wanted to but a great performance from the team in their first outing. Apparently the cross wind did not help any-one, especially our rather ingeneous propulsion system.

Thanks very much to the energetic organisers and the wonderful sponsor.

Milan Show

Well the motorcycle show in Milan has come and gone! We had a great show. The first three days were for the trade and there was a great deal of interest for the Pumpabike and for the Evo L2X, our portable street legal moped.

We spend huge amounts of time getting products ready for the market and so when we get such positive feedback it is fantastic.

What is also fantastic is that Mandy is so passionate about Puzey Design that she wears the logo close to her heart!

The big feedback from the show is that we are clear leaders in the portable personal transport field. We have a unique advantage here and we need to step up a gear and stay ahead. There are two small tests to complete in Germany and then we will be clear to 'Evolutionise' the streets of Europe!

Our Bullet did well too. This is our 2005 Pitbike. There were masses of other Pitbikes on the show and so whilst jumping into such a crowded pond is daunting, we are not behind in terms of competitive pricing and we have an edge in technical specifications. This is a great situation to be in ahead of the relaease of our 2006 model.

L2X DEBUT

The long awaited International debut of our DOT approved scooter happens next week in Milan.
The Motor Cycle Show runs from the 15th of November. We are really excited about this event and are sure that this folding scooter is going to open a great deal of personal transport opportunities.

Mark Parsons (mark@evopowerboards.com) who runs the European operations of Evo Powerboards will lead our team on the show. One of the Evo partners Alex Lenaerts (alex@evopowerboards.com) will be there for the first 2 days. Please contact them directly or stop by the stand for a chat. If the facilites permit, you may even get a chance to test the machine.

What are we trying to do?

There is a range of stuff that we have in the development pipeline. Mike Puzey has been flat out busy working in his shop on the current range of gas scooters that we proudly call Evo. There is a new electric motor that will be on a test scooter at the end of this month and so hopefully we will have great news in the New Year.

The human powered hydrofoil has been a great proof of concept tool and the feedback we have had from Mens Health, Gizmag, and other folks in the know has been awesome. This technology forms the basis of a host of radically new products and the prototypes will be swimming by Christmas.
